a24a020e6d Auto merge of #102418 - citrus-it:illumos-strip-debug, r=nagisa
The illumos linker does not support --strip-debug

When building and testing rust 1.64.0 on illumos, we saw a large number of failing tests associated with:

```
   = note: ld: fatal: unrecognized option '--strip-debug'
           ld: fatal: use the -z help option for usage information
           collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
```

The illumos linker does not support the `--strip-debug` option (although it does support `--strip-all`).

2d9e61f0c7 Only export __tls_* on wasm32-unknown-unknown.
From talking with @abrown, we aren't planning to have hosts call these
`__tls_*` functions; instead, TLS initialization will be handled
transparently within libc. Consequently, these functions don't need to
be exported.

Leave them exported on wasm32-unknown-unknown though, as wasm-bindgen
does call them.

Rollup merge of #102426 - sunfishcode:sunfishcode/no-wasm-init-memory, r=nagisa
Don't export `__wasm_init_memory` on WebAssembly.

Since #72889, the Rust wasm target doesn't use --passive-segments, so remove the `--export=__wasm_init_memory`.

As documented in the [tool-conventions Linking convention], `__wasm_init_memory` is not intended to be exported.

7f06d513fb Don't export __heap_base and __data_end on wasm32-wasi.
`__heap_base` and `__data_end` are exported for use by wasm-bindgen, which
uses the wasm32-unknown-unknown target. On wasm32-wasi, as a step toward
implementing the Canonical ABI, and as an aid to building speicalized WASI
API polyfill wrappers, don't export `__heap_base` and `__data_end` on
wasm32-wasi.

Generate synthetic object file to ensure all exported and used symbols participate in the linking

Fix #50007 and #47384

This is the synthetic object file approach that I described in https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/95363#issuecomment-1079932354, allowing all exported and used symbols to be linked while still allowing them to be GCed.

660d993c64 adapt L4Bender implementation
- Fix style errors.

- L4-bender does not yet support dynamic linking.

- Stack unwinding is not yet supported for x86_64-unknown-l4re-uclibc.
  For now, just abort on panics.

- Use GNU-style linker options where possible. As suggested by review:
    - Use standard GNU-style ld syntax for relro flags.
    - Use standard GNU-style optimization flags and logic.
    - Use standard GNU-style ld syntax for --subsystem.

- Don't read environment variables in L4Bender linker. Thanks to
  CARGO_ENCODED_RUSTFLAGS introduced in #9601, l4-bender's arguments can
  now be passed from the L4Re build system without resorting to custom
  parsing of environment variables.

32ddd0206c Refactor linker argument generation
This commit refactors linker argument generation to leverage a helper
function that abstracts away details governing how these arguments are
transformed and provided to the linker.

This fixes the misuse of the `-exported_symbols_list` when an ld-like
linker is used rather than a compiler. A compiler would expect
`-Wl,-exported_symbols_list,path` but ld would expect
`-exported_symbols_list` and `path` as two seperate arguments. Prior
to this change, an ld-like linker was given
`-exported_symbols_list,path`.

a17193dbb9 Enable AutoFDO.
This largely involves implementing the options debug-info-for-profiling
and profile-sample-use and forwarding them on to LLVM.

AutoFDO can be used on x86-64 Linux like this:
rustc -O -Cdebug-info-for-profiling main.rs -o main
perf record -b ./main
create_llvm_prof --binary=main --out=code.prof
rustc -O -Cprofile-sample-use=code.prof main.rs -o main2

Now `main2` will have feedback directed optimization applied to it.

The create_llvm_prof tool can be obtained from this github repository:
https://github.com/google/autofdo

Fixes #64892.
