fe843feaab Use fewer origins when creating type variables.
`InferCtxt::next_{ty,const}_var*` all take an origin, but the
`param_def_id` is almost always `None`. This commit changes them to just
take a `Span` and build the origin within the method, and adds new
methods for the rare cases where `param_def_id` might not be `None`.
This avoids a lot of tedious origin building.

Specifically:
- next_ty_var{,_id_in_universe,_in_universe}: now take `Span` instead of
  `TypeVariableOrigin`
- next_ty_var_with_origin: added

- next_const_var{,_in_universe}: takes Span instead of ConstVariableOrigin
- next_const_var_with_origin: added

- next_region_var, next_region_var_in_universe: these are unchanged,
  still take RegionVariableOrigin

The API inconsistency (ty/const vs region) seems worth it for the
large conciseness improvements.

11f2ca340c Inline and remove unused methods.
`InferCtxt::next_{ty,const,int,float}_var_id` each have a single call
site, in `InferCtt::next_{ty,const,int,float}_var` respectively.

The only remaining method that creates a var_id is
`InferCtxt::next_ty_var_id_in_universe`, which has one use outside the
crate.

Rollup merge of #123979 - oli-obk:define_opaque_types7, r=compiler-errors
Subtype predicates only exist on inference types, so we can allow them to register opaque types within them.

We were unable to come up with an example where this could be reached (subtype predicates with either side not being an infer var gets consumed during any `select_where_possible` invocation, of which we have a lot in typeck). To ensure we don't silently accept new behaviour in case we missed a situation where this could occur, I have added an assert that prevents opaque types from having their hidden type constrained.

Rollup merge of #123016 - compiler-errors:no-type-var-origin, r=lcnr
Remove `TypeVariableOriginKind` and `ConstVariableOriginKind`

It's annoying to have to import `TypeVariableOriginKind` just to fill it with `MiscVariable` for almost every use. Every other usage other than `TypeParameterDefinition` wasn't even used -- I can see how it may have been useful once for debugging, but I do quite a lot of typeck debugging and I've never really needed it.

So let's just remove it, and keep around the only useful thing which is the `DefId` of the param for `var_for_def`.

This is based on #123006, which removed the special use of `TypeVariableOriginKind::OpaqueInference`, which I'm pretty sure I was the one that added.

misc cleanups from debugging something

rename `instantiate_canonical_with_fresh_inference_vars` to `instantiate_canonical` the substs for the canonical are not solely infer vars as that would be wildly wrong and it is rather confusing to see this method called and think that the entire canonicalization setup is completely broken when it is not 👍

also update region debug printing to be more like the custom impls for Ty/Const, right now regions in debug output are horribly verbose and make it incredibly hard to read but with this atleast boundvars and placeholders when debugging the new solver do not take up excessive amounts of space.

260ae70140 Overhaul how stashed diagnostics work, again.
Stashed errors used to be counted as errors, but could then be
cancelled, leading to `ErrorGuaranteed` soundness holes. #120828 changed
that, closing the soundness hole. But it introduced other difficulties
because you sometimes have to account for pending stashed errors when
making decisions about whether errors have occured/will occur and it's
easy to overlook these.

This commit aims for a middle ground.
- Stashed errors (not warnings) are counted immediately as emitted
errors, avoiding the possibility of forgetting to consider them.
- The ability to cancel (or downgrade) stashed errors is eliminated, by
disallowing the use of `steal_diagnostic` with errors, and introducing
  the more restrictive methods `try_steal_{modify,replace}_and_emit_err`
  that can be used instead.

Other things:
- `DiagnosticBuilder::stash` and `DiagCtxt::stash_diagnostic` now both
return `Option<ErrorGuaranteed>`, which enables the removal of two
`delayed_bug` calls and one `Ty::new_error_with_message` call. This is
possible because we store error guarantees in
  `DiagCtxt::stashed_diagnostics`.
- Storing the guarantees also saves us having to maintain a counter.
- Calls to the `stashed_err_count` method are no longer necessary
alongside calls to `has_errors`, which is a nice simplification, and
eliminates two more `span_delayed_bug` calls and one FIXME comment.
- Tests are added for three of the four fixed PRs mentioned below.
- `issue-121108.rs`'s output improved slightly, omitting a non-useful
  error message.

Fixes #121451.
Fixes #121477.
Fixes #121504.

1b3164f5c9 always emit AliasRelate goals when relating aliases
Add `StructurallyRelateAliases` to allow instantiating infer vars with rigid aliases.
Change `instantiate_query_response` to be infallible in the new solver. This requires canonicalization to not hide any information used by the query, so weaken
universe compression. It also modifies `term_is_fully_unconstrained` to allow
region inference variables in a higher universe.

Top level error handling

The interactions between the following things are surprisingly complicated:
- `emit_stashed_diagnostics`,
- `flush_delayed`,
- normal return vs `abort_if_errors`/`FatalError.raise()` unwinding in the call to the closure in `interface::run_compiler`.

This PR disentangles it all.

46f4983356 Adjust the has_errors* methods.
Currently `has_errors` excludes lint errors. This commit changes it to
include lint errors.

The motivation for this is that for most places it doesn't matter
whether lint errors are included or not. But there are multiple places
where they must be includes, and only one place where they must not be
included. So it makes sense for `has_errors` to do the thing that fits
the most situations, and the new `has_errors_excluding_lint_errors`
method in the one exceptional place.

The same change is made for `err_count`. Annoyingly, this requires the
introduction of `err_count_excluding_lint_errs` for one place, to
preserve existing error printing behaviour. But I still think the change
is worthwhile overall.
