This is an early preparation for systemd v254 which causes some patch reflows and EFI-related cleanups to their new build system with elf2efi, requiring pyelftools as a Python packge.

Subject: [PATCH] Fix NixOS containers

In NixOS containers, the init script is bind-mounted into the

container, so checking early whether it exists will fail.
