309e5ad624 ripgrep-all: avoid producing debug symbols
Upstream enabled `debug = true` for the release profiles, breaking the
`wrapProgram` logic we have in the build.

Additionally, we don't want to have debug symbols produced by default.

e0464e4788 treewide: replace stdenv.is with stdenv.hostPlatform.is
In preparation for the deprecation of `stdenv.isX`.

These shorthands are not conducive to cross-compilation because they
hide the platforms.

Darwin might get cross-compilation for which the continued usage of `stdenv.isDarwin` will get in the way

One example of why this is bad and especially affects compiler packages
https://www.github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/343059

There are too many files to go through manually but a treewide should
get users thinking when they see a `hostPlatform.isX` in a place where it
doesn't make sense.

```
fd --type f "\.nix" | xargs sd --fixed-strings "stdenv.is" "stdenv.hostPlatform.is"
85f96822a0 treewide: fix cargoSha256/cargoHash
Rust 1.50.0 incorporated a Cargo change (rust-lang/cargo#8937) in
which cargo vendor erroneously changed permissions of vendored
crates. This was fixed in Rust
1.51.0 (rust-lang/cargo#9131). Unfortunately, this means that all
cargoSha256/cargoHashes produced during the Rust 1.50.0 cycle are
potentially broken.
This change updates cargoSha256/cargoHash tree-wide.
Fixes #121994.
ripgrep-all: use ffmpeg 4
See also #120705. `ffmpeg` is only used to search for metadata and
chapters in video files (such as `.mkv`, `.mp4` etc.). Confirmed that
with both `ffmpeg` versions the same result is provided.
4a7f99d55d treewide: with stdenv.lib; in meta -> with lib;
Part of: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/108938
meta = with stdenv.lib;
is a widely used pattern. We want to slowly remove
the `stdenv.lib` indirection and encourage people
to use `lib` directly. Thus let’s start with the meta
field.
This used a rewriting script to mostly automatically
replace all occurances of this pattern, and add the
`lib` argument to the package header if it doesn’t
exist yet.
The script in its current form is available at
https://cs.tvl.fyi/depot@2f807d7f141068d2d60676a89213eaa5353ca6e0/-/blob/users/Profpatsch/nixpkgs-rewriter/default.nix
01d4e2fe33 treewide: use ffmpeg_3 explicitly if not wanted otherwise
After making `ffmpeg` point to the latest `ffmpeg_4`, all packages that
used `ffmpeg` without requiring a specific version now use ffmpeg_3
explicitly so they shouldn't change.
eb11feaa0b treewide: change fetchCargoTarball default to opt-out
Changes the default fetcher in the Rust Platform to be the newer
`fetchCargoTarball`, and changes every application using the current default to
instead opt out.
This commit does not change any hashes or cause any rebuilds. Once integrated,
we will start deleting the opt-outs and recomputing hashes.
See #79975 for details.
treewide: update which packages I'm currently maintaining
Idea shamelessly stolen from 4e60b0efae.
I realized that I don't really know anymore where I'm listed as maintainer and what
I'm actually (co)-maintaining which means that I can't proactively take
care of packages I officially maintain.
As I don't have the time, energy and motivation to take care of stuff I
was interested in 1 or 2 years ago (or packaged for someone else in the
past), I decided that I make this explicit by removing myself from several
packages and adding myself in some other stuff I'm now interested in.
I've seen it several times now that people remove themselves from a
package without removing the package if it's unmaintained after that
which is why I figured that it's fine in my case as the affected pkgs
are rather low-prio and were pretty easy to maintain.
c3c072ad17 ripgrep-all: add checkInstall test
This change adds a checkInstallPhase which runs a couple of queries
to smoke-test the ripgrep-all adapters. The queries are intended to
ensure that the dependencies needed by the adapters are included in
the package's dependencies.
