This is not correct and will in fact break things because they try to run before the target is reached.
Ideally we'd get rid of it entirely, but WM users rely on this behavior, so allowlist some desktops
to get the sane behavior, and fake the session for the rest until upstreams/NixOS modules catch up.

nixos/x11: change the description of the display manager service

Currently systemd prints `Starting X11 Server` in the journal, which completely
misled me into searching why my wayland system was starting an X server.
Turns out that what is started is actually the display manager,
so I think it's better to call it like that in the description.

nixos/gdm: fix plymouth-quit bootup error message

If plymouth is not enabled, there is no plymouth-quit service created
otherwise, so setting systemd.services.plymouth-quit.wantedBy creates an
empty service which logs an error during bootup. The plymouth fix should
only be applied if plymouth is actually available to prevent a needless
systemd service error on systems with gdm but no plymouth (such as a
default gnome setup).

The single option tries to do too much work, which just ends up confusing people.
So:
- don't force the console font, the kernel can figure this out as of #210205
- don't force the systemd-boot mode, it's an awkward mode that's not supported
on most things and will break flicker-free boot
- add a separate option for the xorg cursor scaling trick and move it under the xorg namespace
- add a general `fonts.optimizeForVeryHighDPI` option that explicitly says what it does
- alias the old option to that
- don't set any of those automatically in nixos-generate-config

Some environments do not load /etc/profile, so environment.variables do
not work. In particular, this is the case for Plasma Wayland.
Use environment.sessionVariables for setting that variable instead,
which is handled by PAM and hence more reliable.

GDM and LightDM are already using this approach. It also allows us to
enable Kwallet integration more globally without generating stray PAM
services.
The default configuration of login service includes both options sddm
was setting explicitly.

This removes two unused service configs from /etc/pam.d/ and, more
importantly, reduces confusion.
* kdm no longer exists in nixpkgs
* `pam.d/gdm` is not used by gdm
* `pam.d/lightdm` IS used by lightdm but hardcoded using .text rather
than attrset+template.

nixos/manual: render module chapters with nixos-render-docs

this converts meta.doc into an md pointer, not an xml pointer. since we
no longer need xml for manual chapters we can also remove support for
manual chapters from md-to-db.sh
since pandoc converts smart quotes to docbook quote elements and our
nixos-render-docs does not we lose this distinction in the rendered
output. that's probably not that bad, our stylesheet didn't make use of
this anyway (and pre-23.05 versions of the chapters didn't use quote
elements either).
also updates the nixpkgs manual to clarify that option docs support all
extensions (although it doesn't support headings at all, so heading
anchors don't work by extension).

Hided home/trash/network desktop icons by default.
Also changed their default logo settings (cs_info and menu), so what we
should modify to cinnamon-symbolic is now linuxmint-logo-ring-symbolic.
We are lucky, linuxmint-logo-ring-symbolic only appears in a few other
places and non of them are useful, menu@cinnamon.org/settings-override.json
simply won't work because cinnamon-common doesn't know that file.
Also set default cursor theme, this package now directly provides those
cursor themes. And, we now default to the Mint-Y-Aqua theme.

This makes it possible to remove mint themes in an easy way, in this
case we will just use the default from slick-greeter module, i.e. the
Adwaita theme.

nixos/lightdm: add greeters.mobile config option

i based this on the neighboring lightdm-greeters/mini.nix module.
lightdm-mobile-greeter doesn't have a lot of configuration options.
it grabs the default user to login as from lightdm, along with which DE
it should launch. so no further configuration should be needed aside
from enabling `services.xserver.displayManager.lightdm.enable` and
either setting `services.xserver.displayManager.defaultSession` to the
appropriate session or explicitly defining a seat like:
```nix
services.xserver.displayManager.lightdm.extraSeatDefaults = ''
user-session = phosh
'';
```
