slightly relevant:
> stdenv: start deprecating non-list configureFlags https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/173172
the makeInstalledTests function in `nixos/tests/installed-tests/default.nix` isn't available outside of nixpkgs so
it's not a breaking change
