Many packages need only libtool from cctools, which is different from
GNU libtool (commonly used with other autotools), so it can’t be
provided by default with the Darwin bintools. Providing it as a separate
output allows packages to use cctools’s libtool without pulling other
tools they may not want.
In preparation for the deprecation of `stdenv.isX`.
These shorthands are not conducive to cross-compilation because they
hide the platforms.
Darwin might get cross-compilation for which the continued usage of `stdenv.isDarwin` will get in the way

There are too many files to go through manually but a treewide should
get users thinking when they see a `hostPlatform.isX` in a place where it
doesn't make sense.

Per the adjusted FFmpeg pinning advice, packages that work on the
default version should use the unversioned variants to ease the
migration to future versions and reduce the number of packages that
end up referencing old versions.
I have left HandBrake pinned as it builds a custom patched FFmpeg.
I did once try to use this program (although it didn’t work, if I
recall correctly), so I guess I have no excuse not to…
If someone else stepped up to maintain this that would be better,
though.
